Poetry
Plant
Dessicated and careless
it seems that even
the sun
is uninspiring to the
formerly verdant
and productive.
Parched and listless,
roots that formerly
ran deep
no longer nourish
and choke the soil
as detritus.
A glass of water,
but the damage is done.
We will have
no more tomatoes
this year,
I’m afraid.
